Questions
Is it really free?
Yes, with no daily limit. Stockfish runs on your own device, so each analysis costs us nothing and we have no reason to ration it.
Do I need an account?
No. Enter any Chess.com username and pick a game. A free account adds your whole 24-month game library; Premium adds AI study plans built from it.
Which games can I analyse?
Up to 30 of the most recent standard chess games for that username, live and daily, from their two most recent months of play. Variants such as Chess960 are left out, because the engine analyses standard chess.
Is my data stored?
No. The game list comes straight from Chess.com’s public API to your browser, and Stockfish runs on your device. If you have an account, analysing one of your own games also saves its accuracy to your library.
How is accuracy calculated?
Each move is scored by how much it lowered your winning chances, using a win-probability model based on Stockfish’s evaluation. The game score blends a harmonic mean with a volatility-weighted mean, so a single blunder or a slip in a sharp position weighs more than a quiet inaccuracy. The first four moves each are treated as opening book and not scored.
Can I share an analysis?
Yes. The Share button on the analysis copies a link anyone can open, no account needed.
